Dark brown body with a white head, neck and tail. Black wings with a yellow face and black beak tip. Mostly found in couples close to the water looking for prey, preferably fish. Its call is loud and can be heard from far. ⇔ l. 63-73 cm syn. African sea eagle The national bird of Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Sudan and Namibia. LA: ≈ The HALIAEETUS LEUCOCEPHALUS (Bald eagle) has a completely yellow beak and the neck is dark.
