Rust to pink brown translucent wings with two dark markings, the rear wings are orange-red with darker markings. The head and breast are hairy, the rear is red with black dots. Day and night-active found in grassy areas, heath and forest. The brown hairy caterpillar is a remarkable sight and is seen in autumn on roads and tracks. ⇔ wsp. 30-35 mm
