Leaf-shaped yellow greenish butterfly, pink antennae and shoulder stripe, brown markings at the wing centre and wing edges. The under surface ♂ yellow, ♀ green white is sometimes difficult to differentiate. The upper surface is yellow and only visible in flight. Resembles a leaf when resting and always closes its wing over the body. The veins resemble leaf veins and markings look like small leaf spots. ⇔ wsp. 50-55 mm It is active almost all year around. LA: ≈ GONEPTERYX CLEOPATRA (Cleopatra butterfly) lives around the Mediterranean, ♂ has a yellow and orange top.
