Long black snake with white yellow cross rings over the entire body, the under surface of the head is white marked. It is a constrictor snake but it is also able to kill with its powerful jaws. Hunts mice, rats, small birds and eggs by invading their holes. ⇔ l. 140-200 cm syn. Siberian rat snake, Manchurian black water snake Mainly found in the north east of Asia around the Amur river the border between Russia and China. And a small colony in the north-east of the Netherlands.
