A large brown hairy emperor moth, 2 black white stripes across the wings, on front wings small eyes and large orange eyes on aft wings. The caterpillar develops in 5 stages and prefers the “mopane" tree. The caterpillar is eaten by man; raw, cooked, dried and canned. ⇔ wsp. 100-120 mm syn. IMBRASIA BELINA
