Large brown fly with large veined wings that cover the entire body. A wide head with long antennae. Mostly on waterfronts. Eggs are laid on leaves overhanging the water, the larvae will drop into the water. They stay in the water until they pupate when they land again. ⇔ l. 20-25 mm
