Large Hawker with faint mosaic-like markings on the rear section, two bright green markings on its breast. The ♂ has blue eyes with a black rear body topped with green markings, with blue side markings towards the tail end. The side of the breast is green with thick black stripes. The ♀ is more brownish black initially with yellow markings becoming green. The eyes are brown. Often seen after sunset looking for mosquitos. They like suburban areas. ⇔ l. 70-80 mm syn. Blue hawker LA: ≈ The ♂ AESHNA GRANDIS (Brown hawker) can be distinguished by its pattern, for the ♀ it is more difficult but the shoulder markings are indicators.
