A hairy spider with long grey pink legs. The front body is yellow-brown with 2 dark vertical stripes, the rear body is grey also with 2 dark stripes and some light cross stripes. Makes a funnel-like web on the surface, in which the spider waits for prey that is careless enough to wander onto it. ⇔ l. 8-14 mm LA: ≈ The MALTHONICA FERRUGINEA (Charcoal spider) is yellow-brown. ≈ The TEGENARIA ATRICA (Dust spider) is more brown coloured. ≈ And the TEGENARIA DOMESTICA (Domestic house spider) is smaller and more grey coloured.
