Red-brown back with white belly and rump, on the flanks a dark brown band. A white tail with brown tip. The face has a dark tear along the nose, large ears and both genders have horns. ♂ shows off for ♀ and competition by jumping around with stiff legs, curved back and elongated tail. National animal of South Africa. ⇔ hbl. 150-175 cm, sh. 70-90 cm, tl. 15-30 cm, horns 30-40 cm
