Yellow, white with black striped spider, silvery hairy white head, the legs are striped as well. The ♂ is much smaller than the ♀ and his colours are less bright. She builds a circular web just above the ground on a sunny spot in grass or bushes, typically with a zigzag thread through it to stabilise the web. At the end of summer, the ♀ makes brown cocoons in which the young spiders winter. ⇔ l. 4-14 mm
