The upper surface ♂ is grey-blue to grey-green with a wide dark edge and black white fringe. The upper surface ♀ is dark brown with orange markings along the edge of the rear wings. Under surface ♀ is dark brown, ♂ grey-brown but both sexes have the same pattern with a central large white marking and many white-edged black eye markings. Sometimes with orange edges. ⇔ wsp. 30-35 mm syn. LYSANDRA CORIDON LA: Many of the blue LYCAENIDAE (Gossamer-winged butterflies) are similar and only separated by pattern and colours. ≈ The pattern of the POLYOMMATUS BELLARGUS (Adonis blue) under surface is similar but is more grey-brown in colour.
