Small light blue coloured butterfly, the ♂ has a thin dark blue wing edge, the ♀ has a wider dark to black wing edge. Often the veins are very visible. The under surface is silver grey with a marking of black dots and alongside the edge dark blue markings. Prefers verdant areas, often seen along forest edges. ⇔ wsp. 23-30 mm LA: ≈ The undersurface of the POLYOMMATUS SEMIARGUS (Mazarine blue) is similar but it is larger and the upper surface is darker.
