Long thin yellow body with black markings in 4 cross rows. Black yellow banded legs, head and breast are black, the antennae are about the length of the body. Likes sunlight, often on umbellifers, feeds on plants and shrubs. The larvae are found in rotting pine. ⇔ l. 14-20 mm syn. STRANGALIA MACULATA
