Small green spider with a fat round hind body. The legs are dark green to brown, the head is light brown. At the rear end is a red mark. ♂ has dark side stripes and 4-5 black marks. Young spiders hatching in autumn are red-brown which gives them an excellent camouflage. They turn green in spring. Positions its web over a leaf and waits upside down in it, being very discreet. ⇔ l. 3-8 mm LA: ≈ The DIAEA DORSATA (Green crab spider) has a bright green front, but a brown rear. ≈ The MICROMMATA VIRESCENS (Green huntsman spider) is completely green and has striking black white eyes.
