Striking metal-green blister beetles with narrowly tapered cover shield, the underwings extend a little. ♂ has strikingly thick thighs. ♀ has slim thighs. At the bottom of the leg, the second last segment is double. The green colour is sometimes more blue to violet. Adults eat the flowers, the larvae eat woody stalks. ⇔ l. 8-10 mm syn. False oil beetle, Swollen-thighed beetle
