Small bald spider with a striking angular abdomen. The head is angular as well. ♀ is yellow, white, beige or pink, sometimes with a red cast. ♂ is very small, brownish and the front legs are darker at the bottom. The front legs are longer than the rear legs and stand space, whereby the spin shape becomes crab-like. Is often on flowers to wait for a prey to land, takes also prey much larger than themselves. ⇔ l. ♂ 6-8 mm, ♀ 2-4 mm Preference for warm areas with vegetation, particularly in southern Europe, scarce in Central Europe. LA: ≈ MISUMENA VATIA (Goldenrod crab spider) is also a crab spider, but with a round shaped abdomen.
