Top surface of front wing black with white stripes, rear wing orange/red with black spots. Underside of front wing orange with white stripes and underside of rear wings completely orange. Day active moth. In contrast with other ‘bears’, they feed and are therefore often seen on flowers. ⇔ wsp. 52-58 mm Rare in the Benelux.
