Beware: photos wrong! We are looking for other photos. A shiny black ant with a large heart-shaped head. Between breast and rear, there is a little knob. The colony nests at the bottom of a tree partly below level. The ants find aphid in the tree to feed off the honeydew the aphid produce. ⇔ l. 4-7 mm The nest is finished with cardboard like walls made of sand, spit and wood. There is a complex division of tasks: nest making, attending larvae and keeping aphid for honeydew.
