Slender black forewing with 5 or 6 spots, mostly red but can be yellow or white. The hindwing same colour as the spots and a black edge. ⇔ wsp. 30-40 mm LA: ≈ Very similar to the ZYGAENA FILIPENDULAE (Six-spot burnet) and other family members, all are black with red spots. Only the yellow and white individuals are easily distinguished.
