Large green-brown grasshopper with short, sturdy antennae and wings extending its body. On the neck shield, 3 characteristic grooves and the eyes are vertically striped. The end of the rear legs is a bit blueish. ⇔ l. ♂ 33-45 mm, ♀ 65-70 mm Lives around the Mediterranean but sometimes travels with vegetable transport to northern Europe. Its size and vertical eye markings make it easy to recognise. LA: ≈ The ACANTHACRIS RUFICORNIS (Garden locust) has a striking light stripe and occurs in Europe only in southern Spain.
