Brown butterfly with an Orange band with black, white eye markings on each wing. On the front wing tip, there are three white dots in a large black marking. The under surface is brown as well with eye markings on the front wings. Prefers dry rocky terrain and living on grasses. ⇔ wsp. 37-45 mm Lives in the Alps, Pyrenees and South East Europe. LA: ERIBIA are all very similar. ≈ The EREBIA AETHIOPS (Scotch argus) has two black markings against each other with each a white dot on both fronts wings.
