White wings with a black tip on the top surface. 2 black spots on the front wing denote the ♀, 1 smaller spot is the ♂. The underside is yellowish white, spots are visible. Caterpillars sit in the centre of a leaf and have good camouflage, they also like to hide in the centre of a cabbage and eat the plant from the inside. ⇔ wsp. 40-50 mm LA: ≈ Looks like the PIERIS NAPI (Green-veined white) which has green to a black web of veins on the underside. ≈ Looks also like the PIERIS BRASSICAE (Cabbage butterfly) but is smaller, the black on the wingtip is also less. ≈ The LEPTIDEA (Wood whites) wingtip os more pointy.
