White butterfly with semi-transparent wings with a black and red pattern. On front wing black and red markings on both sides. On rear wing 2 red eyespots on the top surface and 3 on the underside, some small red marks at the base. A yellow glow on the underside of the rear wing. ⇔ wsp. 50-60 mm LA: ≈ Smaller than the PARNASSIUS APOLLO (Apollo) which has no red on the front wing and no yellow on the rear wing. ≈ More colourful than the PARNASSIUS MNEMOSYNE (Clouded Apollo) which has no red or yellow and less black.
