Grey-green butterfly with small pink-red blocked markings along the wing edges, and thin white lines on the wings. The rear wing is not round but with a little extrusion, which is distinctive. Can be found in forests and on moors. ⇔ wsp. 30-35 mm syn. Common Emerald LA: ≈ The GEOMETRA PAPILIONARIA (Large emerald) misses the blocked wing edge markings and the extrusion of the rear wings.
